   Berk Technology Intercooler

30th August 2007: Finally got round to installing my Berk Technology Intercooler.

The old one came out with a little persuasion, I removed the engine hook and vacuum pipe, but didn't need to remove any of the air-con system.

The new intercooler & fan were very easy to fit, but getting the pipes & hoses conencted up securely was a little more tricky as access to the lower pipe is quite restricted.

All installed, all clamps tightened, no boost leaks :)

There is a slight problem with the throttle body to IC pipe, as it's much higher than the original pipe, which means the throttle cable has to be routed under the IC pipes (a bit too close to the exhaust header), and my TRD strut brace won't fit now :(

I'm currently looking for somewhere that can make me up a different pipe for the TB to IC, so I can re-fit my TRD strut brace and re-route the throttle cable correctly.
*Update* Found a new pipe, <Click Here>

The intercooler performs really well, there doesn't seem to be any drop in performace with repeated boosts, so it looks like it's not getting heat soaked like the stock unit. The SPAL fan is quite loud when it cuts in (often!). I'm still running stock boost, it'll be interesting when I up the boost a bit......
